Strawberry cake with buttermilk

  • flour - 1 cup
  • baking powder - 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • - 1/2 teaspoon
  • salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • sticks unsalted butter, room temperature -1/2 Pieces
  • sugar - 2/3 cup (plus 1 tablespoon)
  • grated lemon zest - 1 teaspoon
  • large egg - 1 Each
  • buttermilk - 1/2 cup strawberries
  • - 1 cup

1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees with rack in the middle position.Greased and lightly floured round baking pan diameter 22 cm. Shake off the excess flour.Cut the strawberries into slices.In a small bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.In a medium bowl with a mixer at medium speed beat the butter with 2/3 cup of sugar and lemon zest until creamy, for about 2 minutes.Add the egg and vanilla extract, beating until unification.Reduce mixer speed to low, add one-third of the flour mixture, and then half of the buttermilk.Continue alternately add the dry ingredients and buttermilk, ending the flour mixture.Put the resulting dough into prepared pan.2. s on top, then sprinkle with the remaining 1 tablespoon of sugar.Bake until is inserted into the center of the pie toothpick comes out clean, 25 to 30 minutes.3. Put the cake on a rack and cool for 10 minutes.Remove the cake from the mold and refrigerate for 10-15 minutes before serving.
